چکیده
As a first endeavour, nonlinear dynamic response of the glass fibre-reinforced epoxy (GRE) laminated composite cylindrical shells under an impulse load is investigated based on first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) shells. Green’s strain and von Kármán hypothesis are assumed to consider geometrical nonlinearity due large in model. A new solution procedure composed differential quadrature method (DQM) direct projection Heaviside function non-uniform rational B-spline (NURBS) multi-step time integration scheme employed discretize governing equations spatial temporal domains, respectively. The approach validated by showing its fast convergence rate performing comparison studies with available solutions limited cases. comprehensive parametric study performed then model effects parameters, number layers, location, durations, types loading responses GRE investigated.

Dynamic buckling of thin cylindrical shells under axial impact
The dynamic buckling of thin isotropic thermoviscoplastic cylindrical shells compressed with a uniform axial velocity prescribed at the end faces is investigated analytically and numerically. In the first part of the paper, the stressed/deformed state of a shell is assumed to have buckled if infinitesimal perturbations superimposed upon it grow. Cubic algebraic equations are derived for both th...
متن کاملNonlinear Bulging Factors for Longitudinal and Circumferential Cracks in Cylindrical Shells Subjected to Combined Loads
Results of a geometrically nonlinear finite element parametric study to determine curvature correction factors or “bulging factors” that account for increased crack-tip stresses due to curvature for longitudinal and circumferential cracks in unstiffened cylindrical shells subjected to combined loads are presented. Nondimensional parameters varied in the study include the shell curvature paramet...
متن کاملCoupled Vibration of Partially Fluid-Filled Laminated Composite Cylindrical Shells
In this study, the free vibration of partially fluid-filled laminated composite circular cylindrical shell with arbitrary boundary conditions has been investigated by using Rayleigh-Ritz method. The analysis has been carried out with strain-displacement relations based on Love’s thin shell theory and the contained fluid is assumed irrotational, incompressible and inviscid. After determining the...
